Why does the Shop tab have so few items?
All dinner parties, events or tours are custom based on your needs and depending on the size of your group, location and final approved menu. Prices vary widely, so the Shop tab has a few samples and I can post your meal, event or tour in the shop once we compete an initial planning session.
What payment methods do you accept?
Everything but cryptocurrency. Most clients pay by check or with cash, but I can post you event in my online shop and you - or members from your party - can then pay by debit or credit card.
What safety measures are you taking due to Covid?
All safety measures are being taken to promote safety and limit risk. Chef John is vaxed and boosted, and works with purveyors who abide by all health requirements in Pima County, Arizona or Mexico. Chef John wears a mask, uses hand sanitizer and wears disposable rubber gloves. Safety first, then on to pleasure.
What you are doing sounds amazing, but I am not sure what I want - can you help me?
Of course! I love to create special meals, events or tours - so let's get together and talk through what you would like to do. I will offer plenty of suggestions and custom a special meal, event or tour for you and your guests. Believe it or not, I am also a Certified Customer Experience professional through Forrester. I put the customer first and create remarkable experiences with your needs and expectations in mind.
I love your website and concept - what possessed you do this?
I love to cook and eat, but I hated seeing some of my friends in Tucson close their restaurants. I thought about what I could do to help them, while also helping my friends and neighbors in Tubac. I guess this idea just crystalized after a few glasses of wine...and it's a win-win-win for everybody. This also motivated me to finally create a website for my personal chef services and culinary tours, and it all fits well together.
My goal is to always deliver something special - whether that's gourmet food, a gourmet meal, an in-home dinner party or a culinary tour.
How or why did you select these restaurants and markets?
I have been eating or shopping at these places for 2-5-10 or more years. They are all high-quality and very consistent. Most are recognized as "Best of Tucson" too. Over the years, I have gotten to know the owners and staff - they are like my extended family. It's always a joy shop and eat at their business, and I have used their products often in my cooking classes or for in-home dinner parties. Everyone loves their food, so now I want to make it available in Tubac.
